Davis will be the special guest of the Pan African Film Festival as it closes festivities with a historical documentary based on her life.
The iconic social activist whose documentary ”Free Angela and All Political Prisoners” is scheduled to screen at PAFF, will be joined by Jada Pinkett Smith of Overbrook Entertainment and director Shola Lynch for the Los Angeles premiere.
“Free Angela and All Political Prisoners” marks the 40th anniversary of Davis’ acquittal on charges of murder, kidnapping, and conspiracy.
In the film, Davis recounts the politics and actions that branded her a terrorist and spurred a worldwide movement for her freedom as a political prisoner.
“Free Angela and All Political Prisoners” is executive produced by Will and Jada Pinkett Smith along with Roc Nation’s Shawn “Jay-Z” and will screen on Sunday, February 17 at 6:30 p.m at the Rave Theaters in Baldwin Hills, Los Angeles.
