2016 Golden Globe Awards Host Announced

The 73rd Golden Globes will be held Jan. 10 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.

Ricky GervaisRicky Gervais has been named the host of the 2016 Golden Globe Awards. This marks the comedian’s fourth time hosting the ceremony.Gervais previously hosted the show in 2010, 2011, and 2012.

In Monday’s announcement, HFPA President Lorenzo Soria said, “Ricky Gervais left us with a lasting impression, and we are thrilled to have him back in our show as we honor the best in film and television. His off-the-cuff wit and quirky charm will surely have the room and audiences around the world at the edge of their seats.”

Gervais reprises hosting duties after the well-received duo of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler took the reins for three consecutive years. Before Gervais’ own three-year run, the show rarely had a designated host.

“I’m making a list. I’m checking it twice. Gonna find out who’s naughty and nice,” Gervais wrote on Twitter after the announcement was made. “Now I want Donald Trump to stop saying things until the day before The Golden Globes. It’s a good job I’m drunk. Otherwise the thought of hosting The Golden Globes again would seem like a real pain in the arse.”
