Smith to Darrin Dewitt Henson, Samantha Ofole-Prince caught up with several actors at the opening night of the Pan African Film Festival to talk about the importance of PAFF, Hollywood and Nollywood and President’s Trump’s travel ban, which could likely impact future festivals.
Now in its 25th year, PAFF is one of the most prestigious international black film festivals representing countries such as Angola, Bermuda, Ethiopia, Brazil, Kenya, Mexico, South Africa and Nigeria and was founded by Danny Glover, Ayuko Babu and Emmy Award-winning actress Ja’Net DuBois in 1992.
With over 200 movies screened each year, Nick Cannon’s directional debut “King of the Dancehall” marked the opening night of the festival which celebrates films from the diaspora.
