“Snowfall” tapped for second season

FX has announced the John Singleton’s drama series would return for a second season which will air in 2018.

The show is currently averaging 5 million total viewers per episode and the premiere ranks number eight among new cable drama premieres in total viewers.

Set in 1983 Los Angeles, the series revolves around the first crack epidemic and its impact on the culture of the city. The series follows the stories of several characters whose lives are doomed to intersect: 19-year-old drug dealer Franklin Saint ( British actor Damson Idris), Mexican luchador Gustavo “El Oso” Zapata (Sergio Peris Mencheta), CIA operative Teddy McDonald (Carter Hudson), and Lucia Villanueva (Emily Rios), the daughter of a Mexican crime boss.

The series was created by Singleton, Eric Amadio, and Dave Andron. Singleton, Amadio, Andron, Thomas Schlamme, Michael London and Trevor Engelson executive produce. Andron serves as showrunner.
