SAG Awards taps Kristen Bell as host

Bell stars as the late Eleanor Shellstrop in the NBC comedy “The Good Place” opposite Ted Danson.

Bell tapped as SAG Awards hostKristen Bell (“Frozen”) has been tapped to  host the 24th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018, Executive Producer Kathy Connell announced today.

“We are delighted to have Kristen Bell as the first-ever host of the SAG Awards,” Connell said. “This has been a year in which assumptions have been challenged, stereotypes have been shattered, and precedents have been broken. We decided to capture the cultural mood by casting aside one of our own traditions, and we’re thrilled to have such a talented performer like Bell help us do so.”

Bell stars as the late Eleanor Shellstrop in the NBC comedy “The Good Place” opposite Ted Danson. The actress is also reprising her role as Anna in the 2019 sequel to Disney’s “Frozen,” the highest grossing animated film of all time.  She previously starred in “A Bad Moms Christmas” and “CHiPs,” and the television series “House of Lies.”

The 24th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards annually celebrates the outstanding motion pictures and television performances from the previous calendar year and will air live on TNT and TBS on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018 at 8 p.m. (ET) / 5 p.m. (PT).  Nominations will be announced at the Pacific Design Center on Wednesday, Dec. 13.
