Djimon Hounsou joins ‘Charlie’s Angels’ movie

Known for portraying intense and often formidable roles, the two-time Academy Award-nominated actor has starred in “Blood Diamond,” “In America,” “Amistad,” “Gladiator.”

Djimon HounsouOscar nominee Djimon Hounsou will be joinig Sony’s “Charlie’s Angels” reboot, joining Elizabeth Banks and Patrick Stewart as one of the film’s multiple Bosleys, according to Variety.

The film will focus on the next generation of Angels working for the mysterious Charlie. Since the original films, the Townsend Agency has grown considerably and gone global, providing security and intelligence services to a wide variety of private clients with offices and highly trained teams worldwide. This film focuses on one of those teams.

Hounsou has starred in several films that include Ridley Scott’s Oscar-winning Best Picture “Gladiator,” “Furious 7”, “Guardians of the Galaxy,” and can also be seen in the television series “Wayward Pines.” He made his breakthrough performance as Cinque, the African who leads an uprising to regain his freedom in Steven Spielberg’s “Amistad” and doesn’t shy away from making films, which focus on the continent.
