Starring Adam Sandler, “Pixels” is an action comedy in which aliens attack earth using 1980s videogames as the model for their attacks. Sandler, who also produces the film, joins Kevin James, Michelle Monaghan, Peter Dinklage, and Josh Gad who make up the team of unlikely heroes.969297 - PIXELS

In the film, Adam Sandler leads the way as Sam Brenner – once a video game world champion, and now a home theater installer. Called on by Kevin James (“Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2”) who plays the President of the United States of America, he assembles a team of superheroes to save the earth after aliens declare war on the world.

Directed by Chris Columbus (“Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone”), the film was panned by U.S. film critics with Todd McCarthy of The Hollywood Reporter calling it “tolerably amusing.”

Still, with its unique plot and hilarious one-liners and dialogue (thanks to Peter Dinklage) the comedy of Pixels distinguishes it from the crowd, and the film certainly looks different from other summer films.

Tennis superstar also has a rather amusing cameo in the film as Dinklage’s female obsession.969297 - PIXELS
