Bob Marley’s Star Didn’t Have to Wait In Vain to Be Repaired

Days after the discovery of the vandalization of the reggae icon’s star on Hollywood Boulevard it was repaired and will be glowing again amongst the other celebrities of sidewalk stars.

Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Ana Martinez tweeted a photo of a vandalized Bob Marley’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame with a text message.

“Why would anyone do this to Bob Marley’s star? Help me understand. The Walk of Fame is a State registered Historic landmark! Disrespectful,” tweeted Martinez.

“It had been pounded on with what appears to be a sledgehammer or something heavy like that, totally destroying it, Martinez reported.

The reggae legend was posthumously awarded the star in 2001. The star is located at 7080 Hollywood Boulevard.

Robert Nester Marley, OM aka Bob Marley was a Jamaican singer, songwriter, and musician who became an international icon. Born February 6, 1945, and died May 11, 1981. Starting out in 1963 with the group the Wailers then went solo after they were disbanded in 1974. He released the album titled Exodus in 1977, which give him a worldwide reputation and put his status to one of the world’s best-selling artist of all times, with sales of more than 75 million records.

He is credited with popularizing reggae music around the world and served as a symbol of Jamaican culture and identity. Marley has evolved into a global symbol and inspired numerous items of merchandise.
