Cuba debates on major challenges in the Caribbean

The Habana Libre Tryp Hotel is hosting the five-day forum that is attended by scholars from many parts of the world interested in academic and cultural issues of the Caribbean.

The 43rd Conference of the Caribbean Studies Association (CSA) plans to assess progress and challenges of the region.
Among the issues under discussion are the Haitian and Cuban revolutions, climate change, music and the current regional situation.In addition to keynote speeches, the forum’s program will include workshops, exhibitions, concerts and a Book Fair.

Under the main theme, Education, Culture and emancipatory thinking in the Caribbean, the meeting will join to the tribute to the University of Havana for its 290th anniversary.

The president of CSA and the 43rd Conference, Cuban expert Yolanda Wood, told reporters some few days ago that the event has a scientific, academic and cultural nature, and aims to promote dialogue, circulation of ideas and reconstruct paradigms.
