CARSON, California – (Sunday, August 26, 2012) – The 22,000 fans at the Home Depot Center Sunday evening expected a win from the home-side, Los Angeles Galaxy.  LA blank Dallas 2-nil.

Galaxy goals came in the second half from Juninho (66 min) and Todd Dunivant (84 min) to give the team three points and the win.

La Galaxy Head Coach Bruce Arena had this to say about the team’s performance: “It was a good game.  A good game, against a good team, and a big game, so we’re moving in the right direction, we just got to keep moving forward.”

With the 2012 Major League Soccer (MLS) season drawing to a close and the 2012 playoff race gets tighter, 3 points are critical in the road ahead for both teams to keep pace in the Western Conference.

Despite the win, LA remains in the 4th spot in the west with 40 points on the 2012 regular season.

FC Dallas boss, Schellas Hyndman’s side, had opportunities on target but unable to finish.  Consequently, Dallas remains in the 6th spot in the west (32 points on the 2012 regular season) and out of the playoffs, unless they pick up points to improve their seating at the Western Conference table.

The next league play for the Galaxy will be Labor Day weekend, Saturday, September 1 as they welcome the young Vancouver Whitecaps to the Home Depot Center.  That match kicks off at 7:00 pm PST and will be live on Fox Soccer channel.
