Filipino-American Spoelstra, first NBA Championship as Head Coach

South Beach Miami Heat big win over Oklahoma City Thunder and gave James and Bosh rings and their first NBA Championship.

MIAMI, Florida – (Thursday, June 21, 2012) – Miami Heat Head Coach Erik Spoelstra coached Lebron James and the Heat to a NBA Championship 2012 Thursday night in American Airlines Arena in South Beach.

Miami put away the Oklahoma City Thunders in the best of five (5) games with a 121-106 victory.

This is the first championship as Head Coach for Spoelstra and James as player.

Lebron “King” James played hard, with heart and soul, tallied a triple double (26 points, 11 rebounds and 13 assists) in game five and now has jewelry, as well as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) trophy.

Spoelstra, Head Coach since 2008, was born in Illinois to Filipino mother and Dutch-Irish American father.
