Floyd Mayweather Sr. to Receive a Lifetime Achievement Award 

Mayweather Sr. has had 18 knockouts in the ring and won the U.S. Championship Tournament in 1977.

Floyd Mayweather SrHe’s a trainer and a welterweight contender known for his boxing strategy and is also credited for teaching his son Floyd Mayweather Jr.  the defensive skills that made him a champion.

Mayweather Sr. who is known for his outspokenness has had 18 knockouts in the ring and won the U.S. Championship Tournament in 1977 against Miguel Barreto. The former trainer of top light heavyweight Chad Dawson, former 2 division champion Joan Guzmán and women’s champion Laila Ali, he is also well known for his stint as Oscar De LaHoya’s trainer and will receive the NAFCA Lifetime Achievement Award in Entertainment this September in recognition of his personal and professional achievements.

Now in its fifth year, the Nollywood African Film Critics Awards (NAFCA) globally promotes African Cinema and culture and celebrates black achievers.

Last year, Bobby Womack received a posthumous Lifetime Achievement award for Entertainment.

No hosts have been announced for the fifth annual NAFCA which will take place on September 12th at the Orpheum Theater in downtown Los Angeles.
