Golden Globes nominees react on social media

Denzel Washington will be honored with the coveted Cecil B. DeMille Award at the upcoming awards which will be hosted by Ricky Gervais on January 10 and transmitted live by  the NBC Network.

Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s nominations, announced Thursday in Beverly Hills, Calif., gave nods to the television show “Empire,” actors Mark Ruffalo, Jennifer Lawrence, Uzo Aduba and Viola Davis who immediately took to social media to acknowledge their nominations.

“I am incredibly grateful to be recognized by the Hollywood Foreign Press for my role in Joy,” shared Lawrence on Facebook. “It was an enormous privilege to play such an amazing women. And it is an honor to be among the other extraordinarily talented women in this category.”

Davis who has snagged a SAG Award Wednesday, an NAACP Image Award on Tuesday in addition to a Golden Globe for her show “How To Get Away With Murder” thanked the three organizations.
“Once again can’t express how truly honored and humbled I am for the nominations.Thank you @SAGawards,​ @naacpimageaward,​ & @goldenglobes!” Shared Davis on her Twitter page.

Mark Ruffalo’s tweet was a simple one.
“Thank you @GoldenGlobes for the SpotlightMovie nominations!”

“Empire” creator Lee Daniels wrote:
“Empire received two GoldenGlobesAwards nominations today! BestTVSeries Drama and @TherealTaraji BestActressTV Series Drama”

Uzo Aduba who scored her second Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress in TV  also took to her twitter page.
“Thank you to the HFPA for recognizing the cast of @OITNB & myself for this year’s #GoldenGlobes! I love this cast, this team. TeamOrange”
