James Gunn working on ‘Starsky & Hutch’ TV reboot

The planned franchise relaunch comes 13 years after the big screen “Starsky & Hutch” version which was released in 2004.

Marvel Studios Hall H Panel“Guardians of the Galaxy” writer and director James Gunn is attached to executive produce the series, in addition to writing the who will produce through his Sony-based Original Film banner.

The planned franchise relaunch comes 13 years after moviemaker Todd Phillips adapted the original 1970s buddy cop series for the big screen “Starsky & Hutch” release in 2004, with Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson taking on the titular roles made famous by TV stars Paul Michael Glaser and David Soul.ty.

Sony Pictures Television owns the broadcast rights to the title, as they were the home of the original series. As for the film rights, those belong to Warner Bros., which released a feature film reboot starring Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson back in 2004. The original series starred David Soul and Paul Michael Glaser and ran for four seasons.
