Jimmy Jean-Louis reunites with ‘Phat Girlz’ director Nnegest Likké

Their latest collaboration titled “Everything But a Man” recently premiered at The American Black Film Festival (ABFF).

Second times the charm for veteran actor Jimmy Jean-Louis and director Nnegest Likké.

The duo previously worked together on the 2006 drama “Phat Girlz” in which Jean-Louis played an African doctor who falls for a sassy, plus size clerk played by Mo’Nique.EVERYTHING BUT A MAN 4X6 poster card

In their latest collaboration titled “Everything But a Man,” race, class, gender and culture all clash in the unconventional romantic drama when an unexpected romance is sparked between a self-made, African-American career woman and a mysterious, unassuming man from another country.

Jean-Louis not only stars, but doubles as co-producer in the film which recently premiered at the ABFF in Miami, where its been nominated for six award including Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actor Awards and an Audience Award.

Also starring Monica Calhoun, Camille Winbush, Dio Johnson, Mike Faiola, Laura Hayes and Dave Brown, “Everything But A Man” will  screen in Los Angeles at L.A. Live on June 25th at 8:30pm.

The screening is open to the public and tickets can be purchased on the BET Experience website for $10.
