Jurgen Klinsmann gets first Gold Cup with USMNT, 1-0 over Panama

Brek Shea’s strike was the deciding goal to lead the USMNT to a 2013 Gold Cup title. This is the fifth Gold Cup title for the United States. LA Galaxy forward Landon Donovan takes home the Golden Ball as best player of the tournament.

SOLDIER FIELD – Chicago, Ill – (Sunday, July 28, 2013) – The race for the CONCACAF 2013 Gold Cup is over, US Men’s National Team (USMNT) gets 1-0 win over Panama and takes home the Gold Cup.  With Head coach Jurgen Klinsmann – suspended for the match – relegated to watch from a suite at Soldier Field.

The lone goal was from Brek Shea in the 69th minute who was substitute in late in the match.  This was the second goal of the tournament for Shea.

LA Galaxy forward Landon Donovan took home the Golden Ball as the best player of the tournament.   This is well deserved.

This is the first Gold Cup for the US since 2007.

The USMNT has been dominant, undefeated in the 2013 Gold Cup tournament.  This is the fifth Gold Cup for the US.
