Kaya Fest, a two-day music and awareness event featuring an all-star lineup comes to the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino. The event kicks off on Saturday, April 28th with a tribute to reggae legend Bob Marley. It features performances by Marley offspring Stephen Marley, Ziggy Marley, Damian Marley, Julian Marley, and Ky-Mani Marley performing together for the first time together in over ten years in Southern California. The festival also features performances by the second generation of Marley descendants as well as such legendary acts as Marcia Griffiths, Inner Circle, and Toots & the Maytals.

The following day, Stephen Marley will perform a special acoustic tribute to Kaya, the Bob Marley and the Wailers album, on the 40th anniversary of its release. Kaya is the Jamaican slang for marijuana. Also performing on that day will be Lauryn Hill, Third World, and Cypress Hill.

Coming in the wake of the passage of Prop 64, which legalizes the recreational use of marijuana, the Kaya Fest could not be timelier.

This will be the second year Stephen Marley is producing the Kaya Fest. The first was held last year in Florida, in the wake of the state’s legalization of the medical use of marijuana.

In addition to Bob Marley’s sons, reggae fans will have a chance to witness performances by Marley grandchildren Bombaata, Jo Mersa and the busiest of all, Skip Marley. Skip is currently one of the hardest working of Marley’s second generation of descendants. He performed recently at Coachella, one of America biggest music festivals, and has been busy sharing stages with Katy Perry and some of the biggest names in the music industry today.

The official lineup is as follows:

Saturday, April 28th: Stephen Marley, Ziggy Marley, Damian Marley, Julian Marley, Ky-Mani Marley, Marcia Griffiths, Inner Circle, Kabaka Pyramid, Roots of Creation, Anuhea, Indubious, Skip Marley and Jo Mersa Marley.

Sunday, April 29th: Lauryn Hill, Stephen Marley, Cypress Hill, SOJA, Chronixx, Third World, Daniel Bambaata Marley and JahStix.

The Kaya Fest is produced by Stephen Marley’s Fruit of Life Productions in association with OneRise Entertainment. For more information visit the festival’s website at www.kayafestivals.com. They can also be found on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
