Kofi Siriboe joins the cast of Oprah’s ‘Queen Sugar’

The actor, who hails of Ghanian descent, can also be seen in the urban coming of age tale “Kicks.”

Kofi Siriboe will star in Ava Duvernay and Oprah Winfrey’s new television series “Queen Sugar.”

Based on Natalie Baszile’s novel of the same name, “Queen Sugar” follows a family who leave their upscale Los Angeles life to claim an inheritance in the heart of Louisiana.

The actor, who hails of Ghanian descent, can also be seen in the urban coming of age tale “Kicks”, which releases in theaters September. His television credits include the CBS veteran drama “CSI” and “Lincoln Heights.”

The series ​also stars​​​​ Tina Lifford, Omar J. Dorsey, Dondré Whitfield, Timon Kyle Durrett, Nicholas L. Ashe, Greg Vaughan ​and “True Blood​”​ alum Rutina Wesley​​.​

Co-executive produced by Oprah Winfrey and  Ava Duvernay, who also directs several episodes, “Queen Sugar” will debut at 10pm, Tuesday and Wednesdays, September 6-7 on OWN.
