Waze users will be able to get their directions voiced by Mabel “Madea” Simmons, the popular character portrayed by Tyler Perry in films, television and plays.

A tough elderly Black woman, Madea, as she is more affectionally known is a fictional character created and portrayed by Tyler Perry and can be seen in Perry’s latest film, “Tyler Perry’s Boo! A Madea Halloween,” which the studio Lionsgate will release in theaters on October 21.

The film follows Madea as she winds up in the middle of mayhem when she spends a hilarious, haunted Halloween fending off killers, paranormal poltergeists, ghosts, ghouls, and zombies while keeping a watchful eye on a group of misbehaving teens. The movie stars Tyler Perry, Cassi Davis, Patrice Lovely, Lexy Panterra, Yousef Erakat, Brock O’Hurn, and Bella Thorne. Perry wrote and directed the film, which is produced by Perry, Ozzie Areu, and Will Areu and is distributed by Lionsgate.

Limited-edition guest voice navigators have become a popular feature in the Waze app, which frequently enlists well known celebrities and fictional characters to provide audio directions for its navigation.

Waze is home to the world’s largest network of drivers who work together daily to outsmart traffic and save time and money. The app consistently recommends the fastest routes based on real-time driving and data from more than 50 million users.
