Matty Rich and T.I. team up for ‘Caller 100′

Rich is best known for the1994 romantic drama “The Inkwell.”

Matty RichDirector Matty Rich gets back behind the lens as he teams up with Hip-hop artist-turned-actor T.I. (aka Clifford Harris), who will play the lead role in the thriller “CALLER 100”.  Written and to be Directed by Rich, the popcorn film packed with action and suspense centers around a popular radio personality who has a chance encounter with a female listener, life turns upside down and becomes a fight for his life.

“I couldn’t think of a better person to play the lead role other than Tip. It just felt like him and when he read the script and said, “yes”, I was pumped!”, says Rich.

Rich, gained major notoriety after becoming the first Black filmmaker to win the Sundance Grand Jury award at age 19 with his directorial debut of the independent film “Straight Out of Brooklyn” and also received an Independent Spirit Award, NAACP Image Award, and the Big Apple Award. Other projects include “The Inkwell” a coming-of-age comedy which starred Larenz Tate and Jada Pinkett Smith.

Written by Rich, “Caller 100″ focuses on a popular radio personality and his chance encounter with a female listener. The director returns to helm the feature spotlighting the rapper after a 25-year sabbatical in which he moved to Paris and focused on developing games.
