The drama that won both the Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award for best U.S. Dramatic Feature at the Sundance Film Festival will finally get a summer release.

“Me and Earl and the Dying Girl” will be released on a limited platform basis on July 1 by Fox Searchlight, the studio announced Tuesday.

The drama which was acquired by Searchlight and Indian Paintbrush last month, follows an awkward high school senior whose mom forces him to spend time with Rachel – a girl in his class whom he hasn’t spoken to since kindergarten – who was just diagnosed with cancer.

Based on the book by Jesse Andrews, the Alfonso Gomez-Rejon-directed drama stars Thomas Mann, Olivia Cook and R.J. Cyler.
