Netflix to stream a black animated series

Netflix first began providing content for children in 2011 when it launched a dedicated kids section.

Da Jammies is on Netflix

Combining hip-hop dance, music and fashion,​ “​Da Jammies” follows five tweens ​at a performing arts middle school​ in the suburbs who form a group in hopes of making it to the ‘big time.’ ​While on their road to stardom; Novelist, Dolla, MoMo, Seven and Lala ​learn some life lessons along the way.

Voiced by actors Aulsondro Hamilton (​Novelist​), William Chapman (​Dolla​​), Dani Nicolet (LaLa), Alisa Reyes (MoMo), Anderson Johnson, Jr. (Seven) and Shane Tsurugi (Einny), special cameo appearances are made by rap legends Kurtis Blow and Yolanda “YoYo” Whitaker, actors Tommy “Tiny” Lister, Kyla Pratt, and the late James Avery.

With 3D animation and a multicultural cast, the series aims to tackle relatable issues such as bullying, identity, self esteem, homelessness and other real world challenges.

Netflix first began providing content for children in 2011 when it launched a dedicated kids section. A total of 14 original shows made for Netflix’s kids section have premiered to date on the streaming service, with six of those shows produced by DreamWorks
and eight from other production partners.
