Nischelle Turner Tapped as AAFCA Host

Confirmed presenters at the 6th annual AAFCAs include Orlando Jones, Salli Richardson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Mike Epps.

20th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards - Red CarpetEntertainment Tonight correspondent Nischelle Turner will host the African American Film Critics Association (AAFCA) awards ceremony, which will be held Feb. 4 at the Taglyan Complex in Hollywood.

An organization of black film journalists, AAFCA annually honors the best talent and content in film and television.

Universal Pictures Chairwoman, Donna Langley, L.A. Film Festival Director Stephanie Allain and Black co-founder Franklin Leonard will be among the honorees at this prestigious annual awards ceremony which is now in its sixth year.  AAFCA members have also nominated the civil rights drama “Selma” as best picture of the year.

Featuring a weekend of events that include an entertainment industry career panel and an invitation-only dinner leading up to its awards ceremony, the first AAFCA event will kick off on January 31.

“These newly created activities will allow AAFCA to interact and further engage with the two key groups that our organization serves – the consumer and the industry,” said Gil Robertson, AAFCA president and creator/producer of the AAFCA Awards. “Our goal is to provide both of these important audiences with high quality entertainment experiences.”
