Phylicia Rashad stars in new medical drama

Rashad stars as Dr. Vanessa Young, the head of the neurosurgery department, in NBC’s new drama “Do No Harm.”

Rashad became a household name for her portrayal of Claire Huxtable on “The Cosby Show.” 

The actress who received a Drama Desk Award and a Tony Award for Best Actress in a play for her performance as Lena Younger in Lorraine Hansberry’s “A Raisin In The Sun,” will be seen in the new NBC drama “Do No Harm” which circles around a highly respected neurosurgeon played by Steven Pasquale (“Rescue Me”).

A medical drama revolving around a neurosurgeon who wrestles with a dangerous Jekyll & Hyde-like alter-ego that threatens to wreak havoc on his personal and professional life, Rashad’s character, Dr. Vanessa Young, oversees the entire hospital

The series also stars Alana De La Garza (“Law & Order”), Michael Esper (“A Beautiful Mind”), Ruta Gedmintas (“The Borgias”), Lin-Manuel Miranda (“House”).

“Do No Harm” airs Thursday January 31, 10PM EST/9PM CT
