Sacha van der Most to Serve as Interim Head Coach for Saturday’s Chivas USA Match

Red-and-White’s Youth Academy Director of Soccer will assume First Team duties in Major League Soccer’s Week 14

CARSON, Calif. (Thursday, May 30, 2013) – Chivas USA’s Youth Academy Directory of Soccer, Sacha van der Most, will serve as interim head coach for the Red-and-White’s Week 14 match against Seattle Sounders FC, the club announced today.

The Rojiblancos will host Seattle in their first of three meetings programmed for this season on Saturday, June 1, at The Home Depot Center starting at 7:30 p.m. (PT). After which, newly-appointed Head Coach Jose Luis Real Casillas will take over First-Team duties.

Van der Most has been a vital part in the development of Chivas USA’s Youth Academy since its earliest stages. After a brief time away from the Red-and-White organization, the Holland native returned to Chivas USA in January as Youth Academy Director of Soccer.

With van der Most as their leader, Chivas USA’s Youth Academy is considered to be one of the top academies in the nation. This season, the U-15/16 squad was crowned champions of the Southwest Division for the first time in club history, ending the season with a 12-game unbeaten streak.

Under Sacha’s leadership, Chivas USA Youth Academy has added several championships, both regional and national. He has also been key in the creation and support of the upcoming Chivas USA U-23 squad that will take part of the Southern California Premiere League.
