SATURDAY, March 28, 2015 – With Keane, Zardes and Penedo away fulfilling international duty, the Los Angeles Galaxy was tested on the road in Washington, D.C. A stoppage time goal for D.C. gave LA first loss in the 2015 Major League Soccer regular season.

A second win for D. C. United, with less than a minute to go stoppage, D.C. Nick DeLeon delivered a perfect ball towards the far post and all watched as Chris Pontius managed to tally a timely header to the back of the Galaxy net.

Pontius had this to say after scoring the winning goal, “I was just focused on the team today. Throughout the game today we were breaking out in the second half, and we just weren’t clean enough. You need to take care of yourself, that rustiness of early in the season, but it’s nice to get one at the end of the game and get a win.”

The Galaxy young goalkeeper, Brian Rowe said on the loss, “It was not the most ideal conditions, but both teams have to deal with them and play in them. Early on they tried to dump a few balls in the box to keep their numbers up, so I thought we did well in the first half with the wind in our face. We adjusted well in the second half.”
The Galaxy is now 1-1-2, 5 points (won-loss-draw) on the regular season. With a single goal being enough for the win, D.C. is now 2-1-0, 6 points
