The Toronto Black Film Festival is dedicated to giving unique voices in cinema the opportunity to present audiences with new ways of looking at the world.

“We all need something uplifting to escape to,” says the festival’s Founder and Executive Director Miraya Berke.
Founded in 2012 by festival director Freda Sideroff, the mission of GIIFF is to provide a platform to preserve the culture of Garifuna as well as Caribbean and other indigenous cultures.
Actors Danny Glover and Ben Guillory will be screening their documentary “The Robeson Effect.”
Inspiration fuels much of the action, along with messages about family and loyalty.
