‘Trainspotting 2′ features original cast

“Trainspotting 2″ will hit theaters in February 2017.

Twenty-one years after the release of his breakthrough hit, director Danny Boyle is reuniting with the cast of Trainspotting for a sequel.

The studio released a teaser-trailer over the weekend while announcing the new film.

The original film hit theaters back in 1996 and was a launching point for several major stars including Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner, Jonny Lee Miller and Robert Carlyle. The new installment will have Danny Boyle reuniting with the original cast, which once again will include Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner, Jonny Lee Miller and Robert Carlyle.

Sony was a little vague with the exact details of the new film, but did release the following teaser trailer to get fans of the first installment excited for the follow-up.

“Trainspotting 2″ will hit theaters in February 2017. Sony is expected to announce additional castings and offer a proper trailer for the film over the next few months.
